Group Vocational Training Centre,
Jagannath Area was established in the year 1989 by SECL. This GVTC is centrally
situated in South Balanda colony and connected by roads to all Open Cast Projects.
It is 1.2km away from General Manager Office, Jagannath Area, 5 km away from
Talcher Railway Station and 12 km away from Talcher Bus stand. It is imparting
statutory training like Initial/Basic, Refresher and Special to of both
Departmental and Contractual workers of all open cast projects of Talcher Coal
fields. In addition to it is also imparting
non-statutory Training like Safety Training @Contractual Camp (Sensitization
programme), Special presentation on Occupational Health and safety to the
benefits of Contractual workers as advised by DGMS, AIDS programme by NACO,
First-Aid by NSCH, Talcher and other Seminars on burning topic such as “Worker’s
Participation in Safety Management” .
GVTC is well equipped with
library facilities, requisite staffs, modern teaching aids with model room for
imparting qualitative training to all the participants.
